A Warm Welcome - Croeso Cynnes

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the St Illtud's Church building (details here) for our Sunday Services.
The early (quieter) service starts at 8.00 am and the main service starts at 9:30am.

For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service from about 10:30am. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are accessible toilets in the Galilee Chapel (at the far end of the church).

The 9.30am Service

800x400-palms

The main service begins at 9:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of readings and hymns, culminating in the Holy Eucharist (where we share bread and wine).

We typically have two or three hymns, with bible readings and sections of liturgy (set prayers). One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. We then finish with a final hymn. The service lasts for approximately an hour.

What about my children?

Children 2

Our ministry to children, young people and families is called Treasure Seekers

There are activities for children of all ages. At present Treasure Seeker’s meets only on the 1st Sunday of each month during the 9.30am service.
Children stay with their parents/guardians at the start of the service. During the first hymn they are collected by a member of the team and taken into the West Church for their activities.

You are welcome to  accompany your child or stay in the service.

All the Children’s Ministry Team have completed the relevant DBS and Safeguarding training/checks.

After the Ist Sunday service there are additional 'family friendly' refreshments (drinks and food) served.

On the other Sunday's children are welcomed into the 9.30 service where they sit with their parents. They are often invited to take part by helping with the collection, lighting candles, giving out flowers and any other appropriate duties within the make-up of the service.
